Privacy Policy
Storage Hub (https://fi3ik-mme.github.io/storage-hub/) is a browser-based file manager developed by Mykhailo Mikus. It lets you browse Google Drive accounts. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
About the developer
Storage Hub is an independent open-source project by Mykhailo Mikus. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC.
Summary
- The app runs entirely in your browser. We do not operate a backend server that stores your files or account data.
- Sign-in is handled by Google. We receive only the data Google shares after you grant permission.
- OAuth tokens and session preferences are stored locally in your browser (
localStorage). - We do not sell your personal information.
Information we access
When you sign in with Google and approve the requested permissions, the app may access:
- Basic profile information (name, email address, profile picture) via OpenID Connect.
- Google Drive files and metadata needed to browse folders, open files, create or edit items, and perform actions you request in the app.
The app only accesses Google data after you explicitly sign in and consent.
How information is used
Information accessed through Google APIs is used solely to provide app functionality, including:
- Displaying your Drive files and folders
- Navigation, search, and file operations you initiate
- Supporting multiple signed-in Google accounts in one browser
- Opening supported text files in the built-in Notepad editor
Where data is stored
- Your Google account: Files remain in Google Drive unless you change or delete them through the app or Google services.
- Your browser: OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens (if provided), signed-in user list, and UI preferences are stored in
localStorageon your device. - Service worker cache: Static app files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, icons) may be cached locally for offline loading of the app shell. Cached content does not include your Drive files.
Clearing site data in your browser or signing out removes locally stored session information for this app.
What we do not collect
- We do not operate our own database of user accounts or Drive contents.
- We do not receive your Google password.
- We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers in this app.
Third-party services
The app communicates directly with Google services, including:
- Google Identity Services (sign-in)
- Google Drive API
Google’s use of information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
The app is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical connection data as described in GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
Data retention
Locally stored tokens and preferences remain until you sign out, remove a user account from the app, or clear browser storage for this site. We do not retain copies on our own servers because none are used.
Security
All communication with Google APIs uses HTTPS. You are responsible for securing the device and browser where you use the app. Do not use the app on shared or untrusted devices if your Google account contains sensitive data.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- You can revoke the app’s access at any time in your Google Account permissions.
- You can sign out individual users or all users from within the app.
- You can stop using the app at any time without creating an account with us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
